Mom’s Gingerbread Cookies

1/2 cup butter
1/2 sugar
1/2 cup molasses
1 egg
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon,
1 tsp ginger,
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp salt

Cream together: butter, sugar and molasses. Add the egg and mix together.

In another bowl sift together flour, baking powder, soda, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and salt.

Mix, roll and bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes.

These cookies are great fun to make with children. With cookie cutter shapes you do no need to add icing, the fun part is cutting out the shapes and eating them.

Classroom Banana Roll-Ups

6- 6 inch whole grain tortilla

6 bananas

6 large spoonsful  nut-butter (or other spread)

Spread nut-butter evenly onto tortilla wrap. Place peeled banana on one edge of tortilla and wrap around banana. Cut into 1″ thick sections to make several rolls. This is a quick, easy and healthy recipe for snack time. This would also make a great lunch box idea.
